This past Shabbos I tried one of those boxes of Goodman's (I think) shake & bake.
You empty the spices into a bag. You just moisten the chicken with water and then put it in the bag, shake it so it's coated with the crumbs, and bake it.
It was soooooooo yummy!
I've used recipes on my own that baked breaded chicken, however, usually you need to use egg or mayo to keep it moist. Anyone have an easy "shake and bake" type recipe? Where it's so simple, without having to buy it??
thanks!

the story with shake and bake, is that the mixture they make has oil in it to make it stick, so if you look at the box, its not fat free at all...
Sometimes I make a paste out of oil, spices, and bread crumb, and shmear it on the chicken which always comes out delicious

I make a shake and bake recipe from 'classic kosher cooking'.
1/2 Cup breadcrumbs
1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teasopoon onion powder
3/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
(optional - 1/4 Cup sesame seeds)
mix all ingredients. coat chicken in this mixture. Place in greased pan and bake uncovered in 400 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
you can add other spices. I usually dont follow the EXACT amounts and just estimate approximately.
