Kayla Rus started a new chemo pill last night, had to stay home today, till she adjusts to it. After blood work next week they will add in 2 more pills.

More bad news: My dad has a malignancy in his lung, probably migrated from his previous colon cancer from 2 years ago. They will decide first week of Nov after oncologist appt whether to do chemo or surgery. Needless to say I am overwhelmed. My dad is 84. Please daven for Dovid Tzvi ben Sorah Leah. I am in the sandwich generation to be sure, I just can't bear all this cancer around me.

My mother-in-law Chana Freidel bas Sorah is having her hip surgery re-done today (after a botched job that had gotten terribly infected).

So, as I type this, I am sitting in the PET scan room while she is in the "tube." Big scan day today, as she needed to be taken off the most recent chemo due to very bad side effects... we are, in essence, scanning earlier than originally planned to see if this nasty chemo is having as nasty effects on the tumors, if so then we will bite the bullet & continue. We are also going this afternoon to Columbia Presbyterian for a consult for another clinical trial. Last week I had to make so many trips back & forth to the hospital that I spent well over $200 on gas in just one week... I think all my money lately is going for gas. So if anyone can help, please remember us. A couple of weeks ago we passed the 2-year point since diagnosis, and I am just getting very weary. Please daven for me, Chaya Rochel bas Shulamis, for strength and health as well as parnassah. Thanks so much, and have a happy chanukah!

I daven for Kaiyla rus everyday as well. Is there a BikurCholim that can arrange pick ups and drop offs at the hospital? This will save you stress and $. Sorry if you already looked into that.
