I'm trying to get dh to eat more veggies, and he told me he likes edamame, so I bought some. What do I do with them? They are frozen, just the bean, no pod.
TIA

I like to roast them with olive oil, garlic powder/salt and parmesan cheese. Sooo tasty. I don't remember the exact roasting info though you could probably find something on google. Otherwise they are also good on a salad if he eats greens.

Stay far away from them unless they are organic - most of our soybean crop is genetically modified (poison).

starmarket, are you actually implying GM crops are poisonous? If so, can you please post scientific evidence of such claims? And I do hope you don't eat corns or wheat byproducts, as commonly cultivated strains of these grains are already quite genetically modified (admittedly over quite long period of time). There are benefits to GM crops--higher yield means the same arable land can support more population, most GM crops have specific genetic "stacks" that would make them require less pesticides/herbicides and use less water, so it is environmentally positive.
Also while your claim that majority of non-organic soy crops in the US (assume you're there) are GM, I have a sneaking suspicious that edamame (slightly different spieces but still the same soybean, harvested early while the pods are still green) is more likely to be imported from China.

Hi - yep I absolutely am - but having said that - I am grateful for the info about there being a chance that imported ones are actually not GMO - I'll check into it. Are you serious about wanting information? Because if you really are, I'd love to send you some links.

Oh - and we are gluten free, use only organic canola oil, organic corn, and organic corn flour.

Yes I do understand why GM crops can be harmful to ingenious non-GM crops.
But you still have not explained scientifically why they're "poison" as you stated previously.
