My grandfather was niftar very recently
there was a Jewish (not religious) nurse in the hospital who took care of him the last couple days and also cleaned him up etc before the chevra kadisha took over. Any suggestions of what would be a nice/appropriate gift? Thanks!

you can take them a tray of cookies as a thank you or some chocolate arrangement. I think it is a nice idea they will realize that it was appreciated.

It’s difficult to get a gift when you don’t know the man personally. A basket with amazing ‘Jewish’ delicious food should warm his heart, let him know you’re not ‘cheap’ and may have him begging for more!

I BAKED FOR THE NUrses who took care of my mom, I did it regularly, and left it at thier coffe station. I lived close to the hospital at the time.

Yup my kids and I did that also for the nurses that took care of my mom in rehab.. Considering they are always on the run, cookies are like a yummy snack.
