Hi! B"H, I have a little girl - my first girl. As I bathe my babies, I usually talk to them about what I am doing. When I bathe my son, I will talk about his body parts, discuss his "private parts" that are only for Abba, Imma and the doctor to touch. I call them his bottom and his eiver. Now I am looking for a way to call a girl's private parts. I do NOT want to use "anatomically correct names. I believe that having any clear label will protect as much as the anatomically correct one.
What do you use?

I call it a nu nu or flower, but for some reason dd who is 2.5 years old calls it her front bottom lol xx

sorry I am the amother from above..what's wrong with saying the correct one? for child protection reasons it's advisable that ALL children know the correct terms for genitalia . What is your concern about it?

what gives? I don't know which community you align with, OP, but I gotta say that a little more openness about bodies might go a long way toward protecting kids from predators. Who cares if she sings "vulva, vulva, vulva" at day care? Anyone who gets their panties in a twist about that needs to get a life.

And she really never uses it, except maybe in the bath or during a diaper change. We haven't made a big deal about it, but she knows that that area is called vulva.

I was at a friend's house when he was bathing his baby daughter, and he said, "lots of side-pockets on girls." So now I think of them as side-pockets.

^Can be solved with a nice fragrance and a new tablecloth. A new tablecloth always solves my vulva irritation.

We call it peepee. DD is 3.
OOC, how would knowing the term vulva as opposed to peepee make a difference regarding molestation?

I taught my DD it was her clit0ris. Then, one day, my mother was visiting and gave her her bath (she was 2). DD dried herself off and sat down naked on the floor and stared at herself. My mother asked her what she was doing. DD said, "Oh, I'm just looking at my clit0ris."
My mom turned red and shut her mouth. I was dying.

Why did you tell her incorrect information? Only one tiny spot is the clit0ris....and that is not really very relevant in your child's life right now. If you want to be anatomically correct, maybe find out the actual biology first.
