Reflux is treatable with zantac, and similar medicines. My friend had a baby with reflux, they noticed a problem with his breathing right away. I'm guessing that he aspirated what was coming up, but it took some invasive testing to diagnose him. He was in the neonatal icu. After they pinpointed the problem and treated with medication, he came home and had his bris very soon after. He was medicated for about 9 months, and has been doing fine ever since, b"h.

You will have iyh alot of nachas from your baby. Reflux shouldn't be major. Just make sure you have a good pediatrician. I'm wondering whether your doctor explained the situation to you, because you seem so worried. Is the reflux mild?

Is your baby home?

Mazel Tov! I had 2 kids with that problem. I went to a doctor in Columbia Presbyterian. A frum guy. For one he prescribed Zantac & for the other Gaviscon. I think it helped. A teacher I worked with who had 2 baby granchildren with severe stomach problems went there.

I just found the card in my wallet from 2 years ago - DR. Phillip Kazlow, Director Clinical Gastroenterology

212-305-5903.

Hope that helps, if you are in NY.

Mazel Tov! Good luck with the reflux isn't easy but gets better most of the time. dd took zantac for a bit. You can also watch your diet if you are nursing.

wow, slow down. there are lots of things they do for babies way before meds. first you can try different formulas. you can weigh down the formula with cereal. all this your ped. should be able to tell you and work with you. if it doesnt get better to his satisfaction then he can recommend you to a specialist. most reflux is easily treated when you pinpoint the problem. and it could last up to a year, normaly. after that drs get more aggressive.for a baby its not exactly painful to vomit even projectile. the crying could also come from stomach problems (formula related) which could make reflux worse.talk to your ped. first he should get to know all the ins and outs of your childs development not just the routine problems or the emergencies ALL OF IT. its a relationship
