Dh and I are im'yh expecting a boy soon. I want to start baking in advance for the shalom zachor.
I'm looking for ideas of what I can make that will freeze well. Also, if you have a very good recipe for something, can you please post it?
Thank you very much

In your community do people serve baked goods at a shalom zachor? Usually AFAIK people just serve drinks and nash (nuts, potato chips etc) and arbas of course. Remember, people are coming straight after their Shabbos meal.

Cakes are definately appropriate. But it is also fun to have chips & dips - tortilla, guacamole, matbucha etc. and don't forget a beer for me.

In C.H. you will see fruit and veggie platters with dips.....trifles....cookie platters, cakes....as well as nuts, candies, etc.
Don't forget arbis, btw.

definately - but I don't know what. I was told if eaten by a sholom zochor you will have a boy. Well I ate - didn't like - and had a girl 9 mos later.

It represents the circle of life, I think ... like eggs and lentils ... does that sound familiar to anyone else?

Amother, the sholom zochor baking shouldn't be your job. That should be up to several friends, who in turn ask several friends to each contribute something!
If they offer brownies, for example, rather than them bringing it in a foil pan, see if they'll cut it up and arrange it in cupcake papers so it's ready to serve.
