I thought I had all the Kivi and Tuki CDs until I listened to the last one and there were references to a story about a boy named Sholom Ber from Russia who everyone teased and who supposedly drowned. I don't remember any of that from the other CDs.
Any imamothers out there know which album told that story?

Shalom Ber is the (fictional) Ethiopian kid who drowned... he was mentioned on a Country Yossi and the Steeble Hoppers CD, not a Kivi and Tuki one until the latest kivi and Tuki. And now the Birkas HaGomel song from that CD is in my head. Thanks. Also, nine nine nine! (See! I told you they make great salami!).

I can't even begin to tell you what a smile this thread brought to my face. I am worlds biggest kivi and tuki fan (I pretend to listen to it for the kids:)
shalom bare is in "goodbye kivi and tuki"- as watergirl said, he's the one who drowned but got saved.. and became tukis best friend (and I have the "I'm gonna be the best best friend" song in my head... along with the solomi)
thanks for making my day (yes yes, a bit sad.. but true)

I'm so glad to hear the kid got saved! All the other posts but yours only mentioned drowning... I thought that was seriously dark for a kiddie tape. Especially since the kid was Russian/Ethiopian and was probably a social outcast...
(Side note: Kivi and Tuki are precisely the Jewish version of Alvin and the Chipmunks -- the squeaky voices, the long-suffering human caretaker... but there's no Theodore. Kivi is Simon and Tuki is Alvin, though.)

I'd say adults. A lot of the songs are covers and I don't think kids will appreciate the humor. My kids don't, anyways.

I'd say both kids and adults.
its entertaining for kids to listen to- the squeeky voices, and the songs are fun/nice/silly etc.. for a kid to enjoy.
at the same time, the humor/storyline is entertaining enough for adults to enjoy.
and btw.. did you know they came out with a new one? ( a few years ago)

THANKS!
I love playing old albums for my kids and they love Kivi and Tuki! I just got Country Yossi's Greatest Hits and they love that too.
Just be forewarned... there are a lot of songs about people dying.
