my mother makes it peasch, its simple just just chicken skins in a pot and cook, no oil no nothing it frys in its own oil. it takes a really long time though

p'tcha is also known as gala. It is boiled meat bones, and then the liquid is flavored with garlic and spices, and then poured off into tins and refrigerated. It turns into a jello like consistancy.
My dh's family eats it and I gag.
utterly repulsive to me. I call it bone jello.

oh ok, I know what it is, thanks sthill, I know a different name for it. isnt the origin for this dish russian? my grandmother used to make it, I dont eat it anymore I cant stand it agh.

Ptcha is Polish in origin, I believe. The Russian version is called cholodetz and has sliced hard boiled eggs and cooked carrots and other stuff in it.
