freeze them fresh in an airtight container and tomorrow take them out about 1 hour before the party and no one will ever know you froze them. but let them cool off first before freezing them and closing the container

I'd leave them out.

I never knew doughnuts last for more than a few hours. By next day they're usually hard and dense with all the oil weighing it down.

I agree! They only taste good when very fresh.

Freeze them.

I thought she meant she should hide them because everybody was eating them tonite-cause that's what happens in my house if I dare precook anything...

Only store bought dounuts last a few days. Homemade, like Cindy said, getr hard after a few hours. Even stored in a container overnight probably wont keep them fresh. I agree with freezing them.

I think you should reheat them a little in the oven after you take them out of the freezer. They should taste really fresh that way.

Oh, and any leftovers can be sent my way LOL

There's something about freezers that I don't like - I bake alot and for next day I would never freeze - only if it was for something well in advance. I don't understand why someone would work so hard to bake and then serve things frozen (I have had that happen as shabbos guest with challah). But I like that oven idea.

We have neighbors that when she wants to make sure her kids don't "dip" into cakes/cookies in the freezer, she labels them with our name on the package... it most certainly keeps sticky fingers out of the desserts LOL

A lot of things are like that - better fresh, but you can't do everything last minute...
