im making a purple cabbage for shabbos and it calls for sweet nuts. which nuts should I buy? Thanks.

Another vote for almond slivers, you could also put cranberries in, they are sweet. some people put mandarines from the can into a red cabbage salad. I made a salad with pine nuts today, but not sweet though.

Slivered almonds roasted. Put single layer in pan and bake on 350 for about 10 min I think. they should be light brown and crunchy. Make sure to check on them cause they burn easily.

I vote for pecans. Macademia nuts are also good in purple cabbage salad.

Yeah I always make a purple cabbage salad its delicious with toasted slivered almonds just buy the slivers and stick in the oven. even not toasted is good
