I have been a teacher for elementary school for many years and I've mastered PTA, I actually enjoy it!
recently I have added teaching some high school classes and due to simchas I never attended a PTA yet.
as a parent of a teenager, what do u expect to hear?
should we discuss her socail beahviors as well as her academics?
what was considered a valuable PTA encounter and what just ticked you off?
thanks so much.
anon bc id rather keep my privacy

It would be nice to hear what you think of the student on a personal level (if you have something positive to say). When a parent and certainly the student, hears that the teacher likes them or thinks they're nice etc. it creates such a positive feeling.
I suppose likewise, if the parent can relay something nice to the teacher from her child, the teacher would appreciate it!

I second what Motek says. I feel slighted if a teacher barely knows my child.
It's nice to know that my son or daughter are "good" kids, a pleasure to teach, but if any of their skills are deficient, I want to know about it, with suggestions and guidance how to help build them up.
