I use Ban. It's a clear, odorless, dry roll on.

I remember learning spray is preferable too since it does not smear. However it cannot be sprayed on clothes.

Tefilah, I think that's only if it's scented. If you hold by the Alte Rebbe, you aren't using scent on Shabbos anyway.

I am never able to remember which one to use. I should make it a point to only use deodorant sprays in general

I learned that you are only allowed to use spray on shabbat as you are not allowed to rub or shmear something on your body.

I always thought that you could use spray and roll-on.

I was scared that the poll options would include "Do not use deodorant on shabbos."
I thought I heard to only use spray- so that's what I do.
During the week, I use stick.

This is what I learned:
Shabbos: spray or roll-on
Y"K: none (because can't annoint and also can't smear)
T"B: not roll-on, stick is fine and spray is a machlokes.

About scent, it's fine on one's body, just not on one's garments. (Lubavitch holds differently? Interesting.)

yes I learned the same.. spreading is one of the 39 melochos.
therefore I don’t see how roll on or stick could be allowed

a roll on is allowed because it is liquid - you aren't shmearing anything. But a stick would not be allowed because it is shmearing.

well, this is very interesting b/c dh told me that there is a very big problem with spray. b/c inside the bottle the substance is a liquid and when it comes out of the bottle it is spray. this is something called 'moled'-creation. you are creating something, making a liquid into a spray... he told me it is preferable to use roll on as it is a liquid and there is no smearing or creating involved...

I think it depends. The spray shouldn't actually be a problem if it's a mist...a mist settles back into liquid when it touches a surface (your skin). I use a gel stick during the week and either don't bother or use a body mist spray on Shabbat. I won't use an aerosol spray at all.
