I use vanilla extract.
Haven't made these in ages though.
The only temp I bake at is 350 farenheit or about 180 celsius.

Looks yummy
As soon as I buy some oats I'm going to try it with white whole wheat flour and some toasted slivered almonds. And a dash of cinnamon. YUM.

Use a small cookie scoop (similar to an ice cream scoop) to shape the balls works great for my oatmeal cookie recipe and my hands stay clean.

What am I doing wrong?! I tried again thinking maybe I misread something last time... but again they came out all runny and flat and sticky.

Try using a spoon to plop it down instead of forming balls, even with wet hands. That's what I did. Also, if it;s too sticky for cookies you can try adding an egg and lay it in the plan for bars. If you have time you can layer on sliced apples with cinnamon. Never tried the bar thing, but it might work.

I know this is old, but I just made these and they are sooo yummy. DH, who is against anything healthy is raving about them (he has no idea they have applesauce- wait till I tell him).

I made these again today.
I put craisins in and I sprinkled a bit of cinnamon but I think it needs more. I found the cookies a bit too sweet so I'll cut down a bit next time.

I know I should learn my lesson already and stop trying to adapt baking recipes but.....
I swapped brown sugar for the splenda, and used oil instead of applesauce. I forgot the last 2TBSP of oil, and now the mixture is really crumbly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's a bad idea to add the remaining TBSP of oil now that the mixture is already mixed together.
Oh, and I added chocolate chips
