Hi everyone,
need some ideas, dd is turning 6 and we're making her bday party for her grade.
dd has just one request about the games - she doesn't want games where there's 1 winner, has to be games where everyone plays (she doesn't enjoy those games understandably since she's rarely winning)
and if anyone has general ideas for entertainment I'd appreciate it too
thanks a mil!

I love this age! There is endless potential for parties.
You could do a theme - like a posh tea party, where everyone acts all posh and grown-up and drink fruit teas and eat cucumber sandwiches.
A brilliant game where everyone is a winner is pass the parcel.
For this age I always like to do some sort of food decorating, for example getting the girls to decorate cup cakes. You give them a few different colours of icing and loads of things to put on the top, like bits of cut up liquorice and sprinkles and tiny sweets, anything small really.
Or you can make a pizza party, where the first activity is to top your own pizza with whatever you like. then the pizzas bake whilst the rest of the games take place.
How many girls will there be at the party? If it's more than a handful, I would advise you get someone to help you run it so things go smoothly.

When my girls turned 6 we had a bday party for them. the kids did Perler beads. Here is the website that tells you all about them. Kids really enjoy doing them and my kids (12 1/2 and 9) still enjoy doing them. http://www.perlerbeads.com/
We bought them at Michaels, but the website lists other places where you can buy them.

your kidding me, I still love doing those beads....
(some kids hate it cuz it's very small pieces, you need patience and fine motor skills)

not to mention if someone bumps your arm or if you over iron it!
If you go with a posh party, Rachael Ray has a recipe for candy sushi!
