today is the birthday and yertzait of moshe rabeinu
I remember there were special things for the day but I don't remember what was it, anyone?

I never heard of special things but it is a very special and auspicious day.
My husband drove up to Meron today because Rabi Shimon Bar Yochai is said to be a "nitzotz" (spark) of Moshe Rabeinu, so today is a big day for davening in Meron.
