really easy but REALLY yummy salad dressing is equal parts oil and vinegar, then shake on lawry's seasoned salt to taste. you can use salt, onion powder, and garlic powder if you don't have the lawry's.

another great salad is taco salad:

lettuce
tomatoes
cucumbers
tortilla chips (if you live in Israel, the "orange" doritos are really yummy for this)

dressing: (sorry not exact amounts)
mayonnaise - about 1/2 cup
bbq sauce - maybe 1-1/2 tsp?
garlic powder
onion powder
salt

Just made it last week and loved it:

4-6 shredded carrots
Dressing:
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tsp Dijon mustard
2 crushed cloves of garlic

salt, pepper to taste.

Whisk the vinegrette together and pour over carrots.
It is savory and tangy. Great as a side dish, too

Apple-walnut salad

A bag or so's worth of salad greens - not iceberg! Anything but iceberg! Baby spinach works well, so does romaine.
2 nice apples, cored and cut into small chunks. Use Empire, Macoun, or Granny Smith apples, not Gala or Red Delicious. You want something a little tart and properly crunchy!
Some chopped red onion or scallions
A large handful of craisins
A very large handful of glazed walnuts
2 stalk of celery, thinly sliced
A recipe's worth of sweet balsamic vinagrette (or a bottle if you must - but it's easy-peasy to make.) Something like this will work well.
