I've been trying to figure out if there is more than one brand of double snap n go. Knowing my luck, the one I am seeing is probably the worst one. Amazon and google haven't been helpful, I only see one there, so is there really only one brand, or am I just not finding it?

Also, when did you find a 'normal' double stroller necessary? I would like to start going back to shul eventually (say 2-3 months pp?) and don't want the babies to be stuck in their carseats the whole time. Did you find you needed one right away? Or can I wait on that purchase for a while, say when I start going to shul again?

Thanks.

I think there is only one brand that makes it, but they marketed it under different names in different years, either babytrend or kolcraft.

I would definitely look into buying a used one, people are generally using them, just for a few months, and not usually passing it down for mutilple kids..

I used my DSNG(double snap n go) for about a year, in my car, at least, so it was handy to have. You can start using a reg. stroller around 3-4 months, but I liked the fact, that I could see my babies as I was walking, I liked having their seats with them, sometimes, I don't know what you plan on doing with them when you go to shul, are you actually planning on going into shul? If you have their seats, you don't have to hold both of them, I find that little babies, like that reclined position, and being nice and cozy in their car seats.

Good Luck!

AFAIK, there's only one double snap n' go, made by BabyTrend. I basically only used it for the car, which it's great for. It's not a stroller that's good for taking walks (although my friend used it almost exclusively till her twins were around 9 months), but if you want to go out with the babies in the car, it's a must-have.

There are other strollers that will take two carseats, but they're heavy and it's super easy to take the snap n' go out from the car.

Just keep in mind that although the snap n' go says that it will support Chicco carseats, it's not as easy to "snap" them in. We had Chicco carseats with the snap n' go, and although we figured it out, it's easier to use Graco carseats with it.

I believe that we paid $90 for the snap n' go and stopped using it when they were around 6 months (although you can definitely use it longer). We were able to resell it for $50. Now we use the City Mini Double in the car.

I dont know of another brand besides for baby trend...I used that for my twins daily from their birth until they were 10 weeks old. it was then that I saw they would need something more comfortable with recline options and a very good canopy. I got the city mini double in a pretty purple and its been wonderful. they were only 10 weeks old so I always strapped them in tight..its really for babies 3 months+ but it worked fine..it has amazing recline and a terrific canopy.....also a large basket underneath though it isnt easy to get to...I think I really got tired of taking the car seats in and out of the car constantly...especially post c-section...

The best stroller for twins is the Peg Perego Duette.... the seats detach, so you can snap in two carseats (Perego carseats...obviously) when your twins are small and use it as a snap-n-go. The seats recline to lay flat, so you could use it for a small baby to lie down... and then when they're older, you sit them up like normal. If you got this stroller, you wouldn't need a snap-n-go.... and you could use the stroller up until they're toddlers.

I don't have twins, but I bought this stroller for my closely-spaced kids. The best part is that you can position both kids to face you... or to face one another. It also steers reallywell.

A lot of people don't like tandem strollers. I prefer side-by-side. Also, that stroller may not fit in some trunks with the seats attached. I was thinking of buying the Graco Duoglide b/c it could take two car seats, but it didn't fit into my trunk. My friend was unable to get the Chicco double into her trunk.

Definitely keep in mind the trunk factor!

Yes, it's pretty big when folded up. We are peasants and don't have a car. Side-by-side doubles won't fit on the buses here in Israel (my stroller does) and our sidewalks are narrow, as are supermarket aisles. It depends where you live and where you go.

The trunk thing is a good point.

Thank you for the info everyone, especially the tip about the Graco carseats!! Anyone know how the Evenflo fits in? I live in suburbia so the trunk/in-out car factor is really important. Snap n Go it is, and for a double I'm torn btwn the city mini and the MB Duet, leaning towards the city mini.

I loan out my double snap-n-go, it's been used by maybe 4 other families now. For my twins we had a Maclaren double and a Valco double. I greatly preferred the side-by-side over front back.

I got the double snap n go and car seats from a twin mom. She gave me the baby trend car seats and I actually love them. The handle's really practical when you need to shlep both car seats.

I had evenflo carseats with my double snap n go and it worked just fine. A word of advice. Dont push down on the handle of the snap n g too often (like to go up a few steps) We did this while living in the city and one day my snap n go just snapped. I was sad about it- I loved that stroller!
