anyway, your g-ma may have had something in her environment or diet or other factor that's not genetic. The natural environment has become chemically more and more feminizing as a result of more and more estrogen-like chemicals polluting the air, land and water. Hormones given to cattle and poultry affect the people who eat them.

How old was she when she had the twins? Older mothers tend to have more twins because ovulation becomes erratic, sometimes releasing no eggs and sometimes releasing two.

You'll befine. When we told my parents and inlaws they were like, "oh- Boy". My in laws flipped,. they where so worried about how we would manage. But you do. You just dont think and you manage. The doctor also started to scare me and tell me that on eon the babies were falling off the charts. I was so nervous I cryies for a week. The doctors just like to cover themselves. I dont know what your situation is. But I very hard, especailly befor they are born. Once the babies come everything begins to fall ito place.
Also some tips: Take pictures of your self pregnant. The babies will want to see it. Being pregnant with twin and delivering is an amazing experience that few are luck to have. Its not easy but try to enjoy it. Also Daven! I was a royal reck during some times in my pregnancy. I'm telling you its easier once the babies come. Alot of the anxiety is fear of the unknown.

I was also very nervouse about my son. I had a nurse so I think I was able to help him ease to the transision. Another thought, you are enriching you daughters live. You are giving her two friends to play with. I try not to call my girls twins I call them, sisters and friend. But I will ask my son, How many babies do you have? I try to involve him with helping me throw out diapers and putting in pacifires. I try to help my son be independant because this makes him feel really specail. Also you must know that no two kids are the same. you have to know your daughter and try to give her what she needs to help her adjust. I also made sure to always include my sone into conversations. I didnt want him to feel left out. If someone would complement the girls I would say, yes these are M sisters. I really tries hard to focus on him, to give him love so he can give the girls love.

thats so exciting! how is your pregnancy so far? dont worry about weight gain- you should gain between 30 and 65 pounds or so...of course those are only averages but above 60 is certainly not recommended.....I gained 58 in my twin pregnancy and I am quite petite so I felt like I swallowed a suitcase full of shoes! try to limit your stress level and take it easy...I put myself into early labor 4 times because I took on too much...there is nothing like giving birth to healthy twins and going home with them from the hospital!

BH, everything seems to be going good, they are di/di so I have much less to worry about in reference to that, thank G-d. I'm worried about gaining enough weight, not too much lol. So far I've put on only about 12 lbs and I'm really struggling to gain weight, I'm also a small person and just not a big eater and find eating 3000+ calories a day almost impossible. My energy levels are just about forcing me to take it easy right now, it's never really come back since I got pregnant, which I guess is good otherwise I probably wouldn't have made myself slow down much.

Anyhow, we're very excited and can't wait till they are born!

Did anyone here have a natural birth? I BH have a doctor who is willing to let me try, but I am SO TERRIFIED of having a C section!

Me! I did. I was induced early, but refused an epidural until I needed it - at which point it was too late Very Happy

And my twins are, B"H bli ayin hara, 6 yrs old now. Just this past week as we were getting frantically ready for my family to stay by us for my ds' bar mitzvah, those twins took the kitchen stool and put it in my hall closet climbed up on top of the bar on the stool and took out all of the mittens. When I returned from doing laundry they were skating across my floors with mittens on their hands and feet Very Happy

1. Identical twins are pretty consistent in populations. Statistically a certain percentage of embryos split at the 2 or four-cell stage regardless of heredity or ethnicity, so your chance of having identicals is the same as anyone else's.

2. Fraternals are more common among certain ethnicities and more common with increasing maternal age, as well as (obviously) with use of fertility drugs. Where twins appear to run in families and fertitlity drugs are not a factor, the cause is maternal factors, IOW the tendency of the mother to release two eggs in one cycle. Your FIL being a twin is not likely to affect your chances of conceiving twins. If there is some factor in males that stimulates hyperovulation in their partners, it hasn't been discovered yet. That's not to say that there is no such factor just waiting to be discovered.

Yup. I find it neat that my ILs have 3 sets of twin grandchildren, bli ayin hara - one dd is adopted and she has identical twins, the next had fertility treatments and had fraternal, mine are genetic fraternal (although the last set of twins goes back a little way in my family; I think due to limiting family size).

Also they say you are more likely to have twins if you are 5'7" lol - which I'm definitely not.
