For the first few weeks of school the kids need to just adjust to the classroom routine and being in school for what is probably their first time. I usually start the year teaching about the school bus. Are your kids mostly coming on bus? if so post here (or pm me) and I will give some ideas related to that.
I like the book Mouse's First Day of School by Lauren Thompson and usually use that for the first few days.
Decorate name tags for cubbies, and placemats to use for lunch.
Spend lots of time playing- make sure you sit down and play with them (this is my pet peeve)
Introduce the calendar, days of the week, etc
Search the web there are lots of great ideas!

School bus is a good idea. They can decorate it and sing songs about it.....

hi I also teach 2s and I must say that the first few weeks can be challenging. The main thing is to give the kids a warm and loving environment and to get the kids adjusted and to get them use to a schedule. When you clean up, sit by the table to eat lunch... I start with rosh hashana cuz they need lots of repetition to learn at that age and there is so much to do with them.
