Something written when I was on the way to work, when this happened to me. Its not that great, but I had to share:

As I walk I feel the breeze
Its a beautiful day outside today
Twigs crack below my feet
Along comes a paper tumbling through the street
I bend down to pick it up as it rests at my feet
I see the sweet face of innocent Leiby
His missing flyer hung up just two days ago
His soul is up free as we mourn
Just a few days ago we were hoping for the best
But sadly the news was sad & we had to put him to rest
His face is in our hearts & minds
As we see his sweet little face printed on those papers
flying through the streets as if to say, I'm free at last.
We will forever remember. We will never forget.

Bd"h Leiby May you be at peace & bring peace to your Parents, Family & all of Klal Yisroel.

From amongst us, an angel has been taken,
He will never be forgotten, he will not be foresaken.
Like a bird learning to fly, his wings he spread,
he flew into the arms of evil instead.
He walked happily down the street, no worries in his heart,
Embracing his new found freedom from the very start.
"I can do this alone, I can I can"
"Ill soon meet my mother, he quickened his pace, he ran"
One wrong turn, would change the life we all know,
As we searched and we searched - where did Leiby go?
We found him, we did, this is not how anyone wanted this to end,
As we pray to Hashem that a nechama to his parents he send.
That the memories of Leiby, a pure neshama, an innocent soul,
Remain in their heads, and try to make them whole.
Of his Eidelkeit and innocence, all have spoken
May he be a Meilitz Yosher, for all of us here who are broken.
Ribono Shel Olem we ask you why???
As the tears stream down our faces and we continue to cry.
Help us understand, help shed the light
On the events that unfolded that tragic night.
Wrap us all in your arms, hold us strong,
Take us out of this Galus that has lasted so long.
We will never forget you Leiby, in our hearts you will always be,
Leiby you are the neshama who turned over an entire community

Leiby, you beautiful child
Face of an angel
Spirit of the divine
Innocent at the age of nine
I feel as if you're mine
My heart was ripped
into pieces at a time
When the news hit me
Like shuddering thunder
Threatening like fire
To engulf me...
Child of mine
Don't ever undermine
Our inability to define
Plans of the divine
G-d is our lifeline
Don't forget to shine
Up there,
'cuz Leiby, you're now one of mine..

When the news reached my ears
I couldn't believe it, a child of almost nine years
missing in boro park, where could he be
searching all over, far and wide one could see

Leiby, Leiby, where are you little one??
Aveira free, a shayfeleh, an only son
thru the night and thru the next day
Leiby, Leiby, where are you? was all we could say

Oh Leiby, Leiby, we continue to cry
we look to the heavens with a heavy sigh
please go beg Hashem, Moshiach He should already send

how much more of these tzaros can we take??
beg Hashem, for klal yisroel's sake

As I typed these words, I had the image of Leiby walking down the street swinging his arms side to side (as seen on video footage) and this is the image that came to me....

Leiby,
He took you,
back to Him.
He wanted you,
near him.
So he took you back.
Back to Gan Eden,
where it is good,
all good.
no questions,
no cries.
only beauty,
divine.
you shine.

But here,
down here!
look down,
we cry,
we scream,
we are broken,
lost, scared,
confused.
We want to say,
Why?
Why?
Why?
And you hear us,
and feel for us,
You must know
Why.
But we dont.
We dont!
Shed some light!
We need nechama.
Your family.
Your people.
Shake the heavens,
cry out for us,
near Him.
Beg for us,
for us to heal,
to hope,
to move on.
To better ourselves.
Guide us,
Leiby,
Show us the way,
so we can all,
come back to him.
Back to you.
And together,
like before,
We will celebrate,
rejoice,
in the Ultimate Geulda.

Leiby, cry out for us,

AD MOSAI?!

Reboinoi Shel Olam! AD MOSAI?
