A few things that I don't quite understand in your post.

You write that you are not overweight at all, then why would you need to lose 20-25 pounds? Someone who is not overweight at all to lose 20-25 pounds, wouldn't that put them at a dangerously low weight?

And secondly, your husband wants you to lose weight and that is the only reason that now you want to lose weight, and 20-25 pounds no less?

In my opinion, if you want to be thinner, first of all, forget about teh pounds. Muscle weighs more than fat, but muscle requires a lot more calories to sustain then fat does. So, exercise, exercise, excercise is really a very good thing to do. Both aerobic and strength training can really help tone your body (and assumingly, your dh wants you to "look good" then exercising is surely the way to go!)

In addition, many people have found cutting out sugar and wheat products, but make sure you subsitute them with other healthy grains and protein, to be very beneficial.

Also as far as health goes, THE BLOOD TYPE DIET seems to hav ea lot of chachmah involved in it. I am not sure if people are succesful in losing weight on it, but it is definitely a healthy way to go.

Good luck!

I lost thirty lbs. It's a lifestyle change. Yes, you'll have to cut down on calories and up the exercise for a while to lose the weight, but to keep it off, you'll have to eat less and more more all the time.

Are you sure you're up for that?

A woman standing behind me at the grocery register asked me, "How do you manage to stay so slim?" I'll bet she wished for a hole in the ground when I said, "I am allergic to so many foods there's not much left for me to eat." I think she blessed her superfluous 20 pounds when she left the store.
And yes, I question your motives (or dh's) for embarking on a 25-pound weight loss.

I agree with amother. I too am very thin and I get so frustrated at other people when they are constantly asking me how I stay so thin. I suffered rfrom anorexia as a teenager, and at this point I could care less how thin or heavy I am. I just try to be very healthy, and I have a quick metabolism (plus, I think all that davening when I was younger to be thin...I think it really did something to my body!) I too have a lot of difficulty with eating numerous types of food.

But, I just feel like why are you women still sooo obssessed? Get over it! Dieting and obssessing is for teenagers (obvioulsy at best for nobody!), but like get over it! Care about your health! What do you want to teach your children? Don't you want to be healthy for your children? Why are you still so obsessed with being thin????

Although, to me it sounds like your dh is the one that is obsessed....so sad, so sad. Sad

the most successful weight loss plan is the one where u dont actually diet, u just watch ur weight carefully. like u dont swear off cake, or decide to eat only fruit and veggies, or anything drastic...u just eat normally, in moderation. choose low fat dishes over more fattening ones, eat only one piece of cake instead of two, etc. if you jump into a drastic diet, u are not likely to maintain it. I personally have maintained a good weight for a few years by just eating carefully, never dieting. even during my pregnancy I did not gain much, only 20 pounds, cuz was used to eating in moderation, (though not in too much of moderation of course--especially when pregnant). dont diet, rather change your lifestyle. you are much more likely to succeed in the long run. and by the way its way more attractive when ure curvy than when youre a stick, so dont go overboard!
