There's a thread on this topic from a while ago. I suggest you read it.
And I'll say that I think there's a troll that's working overtime on this site lately.

Yes, I commented on that thread a while back. I'm not going to rewrite that now, maybe I'll find the thread.
Basically, unless you know you will only be allowed one pregnancy in your life and you want to risk it, I would not wish for multiples. You may have heard lots of wonderful outcomes but there are plenty that are not wonderful and saying it is not easy is an understatement. Hashem sends what he plans to whom he plans to so you'll get it if you're meant to. Also, never ask for a test that may be hard for you to pass.

It was my thread.
I still secretly (or not so secretly ) wish for twins but Hashem has other plans. Right now I'm counting my blessings and davening for healthy pregnancies and healthy children.

As someone who went through YEARS of If I very UNsecretely wanted twins or more and I HAD twins but lost one at about 8 weeks.
when my DD was born she had horrible reflux was up 23 hours a day screaming (even with medication) for the first 4 months of her life... and coulkd not be put down on the floor to play until almost 7 months.
Hashem knew what I could handle. I might have really hurt myself had there been two of her.
Hashem gives us what we need and what he kids we can handle.

Sorry, I have major issues with this. People have no clue how hard it is to have twins, they just see cute matching outfits and double strollers and they want twins.
FYI - Twins are twice the amount of Work
FYI - MANY, MANY twins (I know of 3 sets in my shul alone) that have issues - some minor (like really poor eyesight), some major (like major developmental delays, etc.), because they're hard to bring to term.
Daven for healthy children. Really, that should be enough.

My ds did that this year. Asked for a test that would be hard for him to pass - because he thought it would be a way of proving himself.
We mamash lived a NIGHTMARE. He passed the test, but we have lived a NIGHTMARE. Don't ask for something that will be hard for you to pass. That test doesn't just affect you; it affects your family and everyone around you. Whatever test you ask for that's hard to pass has ramifications beyond that which you've ever thought. NIGHTMARE.
As for the twins. I had wanted twins my entire life. My grandma had always wanted twins and when I was little we used to discuss me having twins since she didn't (there are twins in the family). WE even gave them names - names that no one would use because they were so bad. But we both loved the idea of twins.
B"H, Hashem knew what I could handle and I was given the most amazing gift of my life - fraternal twins. This is how I got my little girl (my others are all boys) - and not a day goes by that I don't thank HaKadosh Baruch Hu for them. Of course I thank Him for my other children, but twins were my greatest desire. I am so incredibly blessed to have gotten them.
Twins are a TREMENDOUS amount of hard work and lack of sleep - and then a lot more than that.
But the bracha is also tremendous.
Daven that Hashem should give you what you need - and perhaps you too will merit to have the bracha of twins.

I don't know how/if that's possible because it's been a while since I accused anyone of being a troll. However, there's been a spate of random posts lately with awful spelling/grammar, with topics that are usually explosive and/or not really suitable for this site. AND it's summer vacation. Which makes me and others wary of some of these threads.
There are times when I suspect a troll and just don't respond.

What could possibly be trollish about this thread. Granted wanting twins/triplets is silly with a capital S, unless you have tons of help , family and $$, but nothing trollish about the thread...

It depends on a lot of factors whether it 'runs in the family' pertains to you.

I would suspect a troll in the shalom bayis or intimacy threads. but threads on concieving/pregnancy/nursing I have a hard time that any man would post on. There are so many other more interesting forums to post on.

Mimisinger wrote: | FYI - Twins are twice the amount of Work | nope, this is not true. in the early days twins are more than double the work of a singleton. how so? well, with a single baby you get to 'rest when the baby rests' but with twins there is no time off. when my girls were tiny and eating every two hours, each feed lasting half an hour (plus changing, emergency bathing, etc) there wasn't an awful lot of spare time!
oh, and I also always secretly hoped for twins. it is an amazing, wonderful, fascinating experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat
