1 medium head cabbage, cored and shredded
2 carrots, peeled and shredded
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 cup white sugar
a little less than 1 cup vinegar
3/4 teaspoon salt
a few sprinkles of Mrs. Dash original blend (maybe 1/2 tsp. total)
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
3/4 cup vegetable oil

In a large bowl, toss together the cabbage, onion, carrots, and carrots.

In a small pot, combine the vinegar, sugar, spices, mustard and oil. Bring to a boil, and cook for 3 minutes. Cool completely, then pour over cabbage mixture, and toss to coat. Refrigerate overnight for best flavor.

Sprinkle toasted sunflower seeds on top before serving.

(This is meant to have a lot of liquid so that it can stay good in the fridge for close to 2 weeks. Serve with a slotted spoon to avoid too much liquid.)
