ISO recipe: ONION DIP from Bits & Bites magazine

It was sauteed onions, mayo and some other stuff.
I wanted to try it. Does anyone have the magazine? Can they please post the recipe?

Here you go:

1 medium onion - diced
1 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup oil - for frying

saute onions on oil till caramelized and golden brown. Cool completely Add the rest of ing. combining well. Refrigerate for at least an hour so falvors can blend.

thanks so much!
I sauteed my onions but they were on for an hour+ and just not browning. I'll try it like this and hopefully will b ood.
have u tried it yet?

Yummy, is there a typo, or did they make a very big booboo? waaaay too much garlic and salt. even when I added another cup of mayo.

so after I added a ton more onions and mayo, it was delicious! it all went! I would def. make again, but with much less salt & garlic.
BTW, I only added more mayo & onions to a portion of it. the rest I put in a bowl and plan to use to bread chicken this week IYH

On Pesach, I sauteed a bunch of onions in tiny minced pieces in olive oil and seasoned it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. It was deliecious on matzah and prob even better on challah. But it didn't have any mayo...

What do you use this dip/dressing for? Can I use it for dressing for deli salad? Or maybe with a mushroom dish? What do you think?
