My husband wants us to order a Sushi Platter for shvuous lunch. I am really inexperienced, I just dared taste it, and I have no clue which rolls I want to order.

I would basically want an assortment of cooked fish rolls (preferably not tuna), maybe one or two without avocado. Anyone familiar with which rolls are really good?

It depends on who is coming. Are they sushi lovers? Is anyone pregnant ?

It'll just be my husband and me.

My husband loves Sushi but not raw fish, and I am pregnant.

Thanks, so would you know which ones have cooked salmon and are good? And which ones come without avocado?

I think it's so cute that he requested this. My dh never cares about food! You're also making me crave sushi...yum yum.

You know you can call and ask them to make the kind of rolls you need.
I suggest something tempura (cause its yum Smile)
some veggie rolls (no fish for you)
some california rolls
and one fish option.

All of the above. Most restaurants/caterers should also have omlette rolls. Ask them what they have--I've seen/made rolls with roasted red peppers, cooked mushrooms, or some kind of tofu. You can also ask them to skip avocado. I'd mix cooked fish like tuna or salmon (they usually are cooked in teriyaki sauce or fried tempura-style). If you want something pretty you can ask for inside-out rolls.

Even if you are not ordering raw fish, I would suggest you consume sushi within 24hours.

Sushi never tastes that good the next day. The rice dries out a little. So usually we just order sushi to eat when we receive it. Are you sure want to order sushi for the seuda?

If so, and you're ordering from Sushi Tokyo in Flatbush, let me know. I'm like an expert on their menu, I know everything that's good.

alaska rolls and california rolls are salmon-based, my husband orders those. I get fish-free rolls, like the standard avacado-cucumber, and also mexican rolls, which have tomato in it and yummy crunchy bits.
