Yeah, I know -- you can get everything in America, but kosher yogurts are slim pickings in America, but there are very few brands that are not tainted with pectin and thickeners and sweeteners. I bet some Israeli brands could give the few kosher greek yogurts and Stony Brook Farm products (is that the right name?) a run for their money.

Yes!!! Especially if you eat only Cholov Yisroel. The CY yogurts in NY are just disgusting, if I may be honest here. We have really scrumptious yogurts here. You should check out importing Muellers milk products to the U.S. Their yogurts are creeeeeeamy as anything and they come in amazing flavors. Also, they have really nifty yogurt + additions like granola (packed separately), candied almonds, chocolate covered ballies etc. There is really a total dearth of decent yogurt for the CY crowd. And the Muellers is way better than non CY yogurts in the U.S. as well.

Olivia makes very good sauces for cooking - roasted peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and garlic, carmelized onions and wine, pesto, tapanades - a lot of Mediterranean flavors that I think are not so common in the states .

My dh was so disappointed in the Mueller's yogurts. They advertise them here too and they look so good (not kosher, of course) that he was so excited to get some in the kosher version. Oh well.

So Tenuva exports to the US but they change the packaging...What is 5% fat here, is 95% fat free there.
Isn't marketing research funny?

We were just in the states (from Israel) and the one thing I really missed was Israeli cottage cheese (as the poster above says, tnuva is already imported to major cities)...

other than that... choko b sakit?? I love it but idk if there would be an american market.

I feel like america has israel beat on most materialistic things. but hatzlacha!

oh but one more idea! tichels, hats and snoods!

This sounds so good. Where do you find these here, what hechsher do they have, and how expensive are they?

SleepingBeauty - They have a Tnuva Mehadrin hechsher, and can be found in most supermarkets. I shop at Chatzi-Chinom.
They cost 11-14 shekel depending on the sauce. Some have intense flavors and go a long way, others are milder.

We go to visit my in-laws in the US (they live in a place w/a huge variety of kosher foods, includinglots of CY products), and my MIL is so sweet, she knows I like yogurt, so she goes out of her way to buy it for me. So far, with the exception of some greek yogurt, every US-brand CY yogurt I have tried has just been naaaasty. Puke

(I've been waiting to use that emoticon for something.)

I don't think there's anything outside the kitchen that's produced here and worth it to import to another country, besides those HOT Israeli males LOL

How well will a product without a hechsher go over in America? Thomy mayonnaise cannot be manufactured under hashgacha (for halachic reasons.) I heard rumors that they will be changing the manufacturing process in order to be able to get a hechsher and sell to the American market, but so far AFAIK that hasn't happened.
