I try to keep an easy dinner or two in the freezer so that if I am off schedule for whatever the reason, there is still dinner and no need to stress. The flexibility makes my life calmer. There are things that you need to do when you work full time that you would not necessarily do if you were working part time. Think about what makes you most nervous about working full time and think about what you can do to make it easier.

I feel your pain...I have always been working while having children and it is extremely hard for me. While I do need the income and really like my job I also feel overwhelmed and tense most of the time. I also suffer from anxiety which makes it even harder. Afew months ago I started having intense stomach pains and sometimes panic attacks which were obviously brought on by stress. My husband saw how I was suffering and insisted that I hire a babysitter/nanny asap to come for a few hours after my kids get home from school to help relieve me a bit. I fought him tooth and nail at first because I felt so ashamed and guilty that I couldn't "get it together" and that we could afford this which seems like such a luxury. But I had to get over that and accept that this is who I am and my kids need a calm and sane mother. My advice is take any kind of help you can and do not be ashamed!

The teachers at my work also bring a lot of work home. There is just so much paper work and when you teach a younger grade, you dont have as much down time. You're on your feet most of the day. School also ends at around 3:10. Yes, it's shorter than a yeshiva, but you have commute time. So by the time you come home, it's time to get the kids. I guess it's manageable. You do what you have to do. Things will get done. We're all in the same boat. At least with teaching, you have the summers off. That's the major benefit.
