It was SO DARK this morning that I was sure the world was ending, lo oleionu. I almost said shema as soon as I got upstairs, from the subway!

But if it were, what would you do?

Would you call your mother?
Would you call your husband?

When I go out of the subway it was about 9:20. The sky was the same (dark) as it was on 9/11.

As one who lived through 9/11, and continues to lives it each and every day, I think you have to cut me some slack here.

I saw the 2nd plane hit. I ran for my life.

I also lived through Gimul Tamuz. It was a very big deal ....we were every day waiting for some revelation. I had little kids then, saying the psukim and chanting refuah, etc.

Again, when I heard the levaya News, I ran to see the sky. I didn't think the sun would dare come up on such a world.

Don't judge me until you've walked in my shoes...

No one judged you, but we don't believe in the idea of the world ending. I don't think you need to take it so personally.

Sarag who says I haven't been where you have.

I lost in one instant a beautiful baby boy healthy and all, we had his purim costume ready which he never got to wear only to discover the following morning a niftarer. Crying

You think I didn't feel my world come crushing down on me, you think I didn't feel a failure as a mother, not worth to be living whilst my baby went Crying .
Can you even imagine the shock and horror of it all Crying Crying .

But I still believed then and now in moshiach and the world won't end up as secular society thinks dooms day Exclamation So even for a fun thread I think one should still remember, we are Jews who have a Jewish belief Exclamation

Our friend who was in his vehicle in the street when the towers fell on 9/11 (the car was scratched and dented by fallling debris) said that he was screaming Shma while his partner was bellowing...the Lord's Prayer?...whatever it is that Catholics say when they think they're going to die, and their Pakistani client was yelling something, presumably the Pakistani equivalent. So he dubbed his car "BTLH": Bais tefilloh LeChol HoAmim.

I probably wouldn't even notice. Many years ago when I went out at lunchtime one day, I noticed people looking at the sky, but paid no attention. It was summer and I was wearing sunglasses. At one point it seemed kind of unusually dark but I shrugged it off. When I returned to the office I learned that I had completely missed a solar eclipse!

Tefilah, that's YOU and your feelings. And you are entitled to them!

No one can say that mine are invalid.

tefila I am so sorry for your loss, it is hard to lose a child and I admire your perseverance.
sarag I saw the entire sep. 11, the first plane the second plane hit, people falling out of windows and all the buildings collapse to the ground, you and I are not the first or the last people who saw what happened or have been through hell or live with it every day of their lives. after sept 11 I had to go back a week later to school and the smell that remained of decay and debris was insane I had a hard time going to school, I was so depressed I failed half of my courses and dropped out of school all together until next semester. so we all go through things and we all suffer at times so yes there are people who can relate and who walked in your shoes or even more so.

I feel a bit bad for bringing my situation up yet agaaain Sad I apologise and Thank you for your sympathy!

But the only reason I did was just in answer to sarag the line on how not to judge if you r not in my shoes.
And though it's not the same scenerio...... everyone as you posted once has their pekelach. but we still have to try to move on and remember there is always light at the end of the tunnel Exclamation

Not everyone is sweetness and light. Certainly not all the time.

And not everyone can rise up from seemingly bad things.
