ok this is a bit embarassing, but I just got an artscroll tehillim, and I want to start saying tehillim everyday, its divided into days monday, tuesday etc, then on the right top corner it says 7th day of month monday etc etc. what does that mean? for instance today is monday, there is a whole section for monday do I say that whole section for today? excuse my silly ignorance. thanks

It's just a convenient way for people who want to finish the whole of Tehilim in, say, a week or a month.
But you can say as little or as much as you want any time - working your way through even if it takes more or less time; or saying the same few you like.

Lilly, its easy to think of it this way:
Tehillim is divided into five books.
Tehillim is divided also for the 7 days of the week.
Tehillim is also divided for the 30 days of the month.
many people have the custom to say it according to the day of the month, the chapter corresponding to their age, their husband's and kids' ages, etc.
however much you are able to say, is great. its a very special thing.
