They are definitely not on top of checking session notes. As long as its signed and the dates and times are right, I don't think anyone really reads them. (JMO) They observe a few times a year. Depending on your last name, either Khadijah or Barry observe you. I don't really know Barry, but Khadijah is very nice. She observed me recently and gave me a positive report, which I expected, but she really zeroed in on everything I was doing right and didn't mention anything I did wrong. Also, she observed me at the kid's house and had a long talk with the mother. The child's mother told her whole story about her tumors, surgery, her child's PDD, her fear of upcoming dr appointments for both her and her child, difficulty getting around since she's disabled, etc. Khadijah listened very sympathetically, had answers to all her questions, and basically gave off the impression that she's pretty knowledgable. They pay $60 an hour, which I think is the going rate.

I have students with disabilities birth-grade 2. I'm not bilingual. I don't live in Boro Park but I get cases in my neighborhood. Arthur is very friendly. When I had my interview 3 years ago, he started out by asking how dh's uncle was doing. He knows lots of people and keeps interviews relaxed by talking about who you both know. I have to go down there today to pickup a new IEP. I wonder if I'll see you there. (Probably not as I'm not planning on hanging around. I'm bringing ds with me.)
