no no! throw out the word poem!! I dont think I ever said that specifically. write a haiku, for all I care... (thats not a poem, is it? I wasnt paying attention in english class that day...) write a story, an essay, a thesis... I dont know what ever you fancy (for any british folk out there)

and I just gave an opening idea. you could use it or not. I will not show up to your house and smite you Wink so I hope that clarifies a little...

does that mean ur in tsigelle?

not a poem!

sometimes I sit here and I wish I could just space out. I wish I could clear my mind of all the stuff that is constantly zooming through. I wonder what spacing out would be like. would I be bored. who would I talk to. would it be dark. why cant I just quiet my mind. and stop. sometimes I want to look out the window and get lost in the view. instead I am busy wondering. do the birds ever get bored of flying. what if I was a bird. does a bird space out.

so when you see me spacing out. dont be fooled. because now you know the truth. there are a million thoughts rushing through my mind. not letting me rest. I am not on a planet far away. I am right where I am. I am not spacing out.

Oh how I'd love to join. To unleash the abandoned spirits hiding somewhere inside me, yearning to reunite with it's master, screaming and shaking like those old keychain boxes. "EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE ME, CAN U LET ME OUT OF HERE???"

Please please please.. May I join?

So I sort of took the topic "Spacing Out" and it evolved into daydreaming... here goes.

As I watch your eyes wander
And slowly drift
And a smile flits across your tiny face
I wonder,
Of what do you dream?
Do you dream of flashing lights
And colored playthings,
Of tinny music and plastic beads?
Do you dream of love and peace,
Of arms clasping you tight?
Do you see my face
In your mind?
Do you dream of sunlight and clouds,
Angels and souls,
And Heaven beneath the Holy Throne?
I wonder what you dream,
My tiny child,
When your eyes drift closed.

although for the next 2 weeks or so I have to work on an article for binah magazine.
after that I'm free to write the junk that flies around in my head :-)

what name do u write under?

my own. I'm doing a freelance article on my grandmother. so...that will probably give my identity away if I share it.
not that I really care. I have to write it first though. they want 2,500 words!

ahhhhh now I know who you are Smile Good Luck! Can't wait to read the piece in print.

When life deals me cards
that topple my deck
When treading on shards
that turn me into a wreck

I space out

When the pain is so great
too stifling to breathe
I can't wait
for it to ease

I space out

When emotions are churning
and I lose my grip
for normalcy yearning
but for only a sip

I space out

When the past is where I left it
biting the dust
the present too daunting
for me to trust

I space out

In that space
in the beyond
in my happy place
of which I am so fond

Where nothing can touch
me or my soul
blessed peace and serenity
I am whole!

These are fantastic! I really hope it won't be hidden because I'm enjoying reading so much.
Perhaps this can be moved to a forum with amother enabled and writers can use pen names when amother to hide their identity if needed.
Imamother is so full of talent.
Please don't close this.
