I was at the pharmacy with my ds, age four. He was running around and acting wild so I parked him in a chair and said that he is not to move.
After a few minutes when I had picked up what we needed I went over to him and said "ok, I'm done. Let's go and pay". He lookes up at me and makes a motion as if he is taking something out of his ears and says "erh, what". I repeat myself and he answers "aha, sorry didn't hear you. I was listening to music"
Just thinking about it makes me smile.
