I dont have the exact link, but yad vashem has a new database to search for relatives who were murdered in the Holocaust. Tons of people have been on in its first week, and im hearing stories of people finding relatives they never knew existed who died. they know theyre related from their names, parents' names, and town they come from. I think they even have pictures and information about each person. im not sure if this is for all of them but ive seen a few like this.

It's really sad. I went there a while ago, and found my great-grandmother's name and my mother's uncles and aunts. I knew about them before, but it made their fate that much more real and horrible to me. Crying

Why should I or anyone go there what will it do for me spiritually I don't mean to be cynical, though I know I am!
But what does it help me both physically and spiritually to know of what could've, shouldv'e been. Now we have to move forward.

thank you, RG and Motek, for the links.
I will spend some time searching the data base. I hardly know anything about our families. My parents participated in the Spielberg/Schindler project, as well as did an aunt of my father who was in Auschwitz, but I couldn't bring myself yet to watch them....
I will ask them for names, so I will be able to search. It's important, I do want to be able to tell my children, and B"H grandchildren, so that their memory will live on

I did a search with the names I could remember off the top of my head. I have to ask my grandparents for specific names, but seeing the huge list of names of just the people who share my relatives last names makes it very real and shocking. it hit me again and again and again as I looked through the pages of names.
