to be more specific:
whose ohel? which Rebbi?
there are many great people at whose graves people daven

(even though one is not allowed to daven at a semetary, but that is a topic for a different thread)

PS Didi - in no way am I implying that you did anything wrong, as I have no clue where you were and what the place looks like. That was a general statement, reflection.....

first she said she said a kapitol thats not davening.

and second why can't you daven at a cemetary? when my grandmother passed away we all went to the burial in the cemetary and they davened mincha there with kaddish.

besides theres minyanim at the ohel all week long.

thank you Didi, that was very thoughtful. it is time for me to go again too..
was it still crowded because of chaf-beis shvat?

FY- I know of one halacha maybe similar to what you said, that men should tuck in their tzitzis when in a cemetary so the dead wont be "jealous" that they cant fulfill a mitzvah anymore because theyre not living.

FY- since nobody responded to your question. The Rebbe she is refering to is the Lubavitcher Rebbe. His grave (ohel) is in Queens... very close to JFK.

She asked a pretty simple question ladies. Why should she assume it was the L. Rebbe?

FY - did you really not know what Didi meant, or did you know but you were out to make a point with your question?

although there are many great people at whose graves people daven, how many of those graves are referred to as the Ohel?

Thanks, Motek!

ok, everybody, I'll admit -

I was playing devils advocate.

Please, lets not jump back into this again, but I just wated to make a point that people assume a lot and post accordingly.

If I were a newby here, I would have NO CLUE what Didi ment. I knew what she ment only b/c I was here for a while and know that when people do not bother to specify which rebbi, it's somebody Lubavich.

Quote:

the truth is, I have no idea I'm a bt & I know that there are so many things that I still have to learn

WE HAVE ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE HERE, even not frum, so for the sake of clarity can we assume that people might not know what we're talking about?

I made my point, everybody, thank you for listening.

Didi, thanks again for thinking of us.

Pls direct all comments about my behavior to my pm, so that Yael wouldn't have to lock another tread. thank you.

ps. Motek, nobody actually bothered to reply or ask directly as you did, but everybody reacted to my general comment................. (this is just a reflection again, and comments about it will be responded to via pm)

thanks for listening
