I have family members with b-days coming. I want something cheap ($$ is tight) but nice enough gift that it would be appreciated. Issue is I live in Israel and would have to buy on-line something I don't know how to do.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Gift cards are usually a great idea. There is no shipping cost and nowadays you can even send Egift cards they receive via email that are delivered within a few hours. Barns and Noble is very popular with my family.

I happen to think $20 is a perfectly respectable amount to spend. My sister sent me a $10 gift card for my birhday!

so, if it is for family members, how about downloading family pictures on snapfish and ordering them something personalized. I.e. family photo on a mug, mouse pad, calendar, etc.
You could also go to Amazon.com and do a search for gifts under $20.
