And I had a bookstrap, so they can't be that old-fashioned. And my mother just stopped sitting on the windowsill to wash windows a couple of years ago. She wore those foam tichels for years.

chen, I may live in Europe now, but I grew up in good ole Brooklyn. A two cents plain is just seltzer, isn't it?

I had a music teacher who had one of those that held five pieces of chalk, so she could write musical notes on the blackboard "music sheet" she created.... I really don't remember the machberes one, though ...maybe it's just getting late!

Say, I'll bet the machberes ones were the music ones and the teachers just skipped every other holder to create machberes lines. Ve-e-r-r-ry clever!
