Well, dh's response was "I like your chocolate cake better, there's too much coffee in it". "Well, that's because it's a mocha cake". "Ahhhh, that changes everything. For a mocha cake it's really delicious!"

high, round cake pan with a hole in the middle. Bumpy design on the bottom, so when you turn the cake over it's pretty on top.

Just made it now with a bit less sugar and oil. I also used 100% ww flour. It came out of my round silicone pan and it came out 99% perfect (just two bite size peices stuck but that was my fault). I can't wait.

any suggestions for getting a cake out of a bundt pan?

my only advice is to let it cool for a significant amount of time before u try and flip it out, between 1/2hr to an hr.

I made this recipe last week, I enjoyed it but my husband said he likes other cakes better, he's not much of a mocha person. oh well!

Thanks the posting this. I had a hour to go for the fast and needed something to do and this was a perfect desert, but I just halved the receipe w/o glaze. My hub did say that the coffee taste was a little strong but the added almond liquer that I added made up for that. I think I will make a big one with glaze for shabbos.

I made it for after the fast and it was such a hit! I put 1 2/3 cups of sugar, and it was perfect.

I also used a silicone bundt pan, so I kind of peeled off the pan, and the cake stayed in one piece.

Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Last Shabbos we went to my inlaws, I brought along one of these for an "extra" dessert. My sil and bil were there too with their very large family, ka'h...well, we finished off the cake in one sitting! I was cutting the slices as thin as possible and there wasn't ONE SLICE LEFT!!! Not even a crumb...better for me, or I would've finished off the "leftovers" like you ladies did!

I am thinking of baking this cake in mini bundt cake pans- has anyone tried that and how long did you bake it for ?

Great recipe. I have been doing this for awhile (got it from a friend).

I've done it with the white whole wheat flour, and had the same results.

Yes you can do it in muffins or mini bundts, but bake it for less time. Probaly 20 min.

HELP
I just put this in the oven and now realized that I forgot the vanilla sugar!
Do you think it's ok or should I try to take it out, add vanilla extract and mix it in?

For those of us who don't have access to vanilla sugar packets (I'm assuming they're packets), how much is "2 vanillas" and how would I substitute if I just have regular vanilla flavor liquid?
2 vanilla sugars = 2 Tbsp vanilla sugar = 2 tsp vanilla extract
