My mom has been in hospital for three weeks. She received exemplary care from the devoted nursing staff. It wasn't just one nurse, but many on the floor. I'd like to send something for the nursing station. Any ideas? Anything, but not chocolate.

You could send them a few Pizzas for lunch or bake them a tray of cookies or brownies that they can share around. If you opt to get them something for lunch you should probably find out when shift starts and ends that way you can make sure to "thank" as much of her staff as possible.

Nurses always love food donations. We got gift baskets often from appreciative patients/families. I didn't get to eat any of them, but they were very nice & thoughtful.

When my son left the hospital after a 2 week stay, we brought the nurses a candy platter and they were very appreciative.
When we came back to visit a week later (when he had a follow-up visit and had to see the drs. there) we brought a thank you note--as there was no time to think about what to write when we were in a rush to finally get home!!

I would ask them for their sizes, and buy them some uniforms! You can buy them at Target.com, and any other online retailer.

I would personally not appreciate this. I prefer to buy my own. I don't know any other nurse who would prefer this to food.

I personally think that a uniform would be refreshing, as flowers, choc. or food is something they always get.
A uniform is not like a dress. They have to wear certain colors in hospitals usually.

As a nurse, I personally would prefer to buy my own. I know it's not like a dress, I have worn nursing uniforms for quite a while now. If people did this for me, can you imagine how many useless pairs of pants I would have?
And you are not allowed to advertise on this site if you don't pay for it. You could get banned. It's part of the rules.

I agree, as a nursing student I was disgusted with my uniform for college. I have no choice for scrubs, maybe if you give them a gift card?
But from what I saw, from volunteering, nurses always appreciate food.
