I have one pair of Ecco boots and (had) one pair of Ugg boots I can wear with my arch supports. All my other shoes don't have room for them and my feet hurt all the time when I don't wear the arch supports.
So I end up wearing the Ecco boots most of the time now, but what should I do when it comes to summer? Anyone know of any normal looking shoes (NOT sneakers) that I can wear with my arch supports?

Good luck. I know when I got dd Shabbos shoes, I was told they didn't have any that would fit over her SMOs. She wears sneakers all week and no braces on Shabbos. Maybe it's easier with arch supports.

I had a second pair of orthotics made to fit my dress shoes. It made a huge difference for me.

Since the mold of the foot was already made the second pair was significantly cheaper.

since I do a lot of walking, I have to wear comfortable loafers during the week. They fit my orthotics and are easy to walk in. For shabbos, I wear heels, so I can't use my orthotics.

Orthotics need to be made for dress shoes. Yours are obviously bigger.

For a while, I wore orthotics, but not sure if they were as yours are, so apologies in advance if yours are thicker.

I went to Nordstrom, where they carry and can order wider sizes since that's my issue.

Munro was a company I bought several shoes from that fit the orthotics I had. There were tie shoes, as recommended, but I also bought the gigi pump since I was going to work and wanted to fit in. They have a fall pre-sale and that's when some of the styles go down in price.

I'm going to a podiatrist and he wants me to wear my sneakers with orthotics- I only wear sneakers when im working out and never outside. (unless hiking) I feel so uncomfotable in them bc I've been trained to think they are not tznius. I know may frum women who do it's just on me that I dont like it all.

ClaRivka, you don't have to. have him make them thinner to wear with dress shoes.

Mephisto and MBT have shoes with removable insoles... your orthotic goes in, in its place.

I know this post is a little old, but chocolate moose I have to correct you. Orthotics are at their best when wide. THe narrower you make them, the less support you get. When going for a new pair, the dr. tried to convince me to get the really wide ones. I insisted that they be narrower so I can wear normal shoes. I was single at the time and wouldn't be caught dead in sneakers outdoors (still wouldn't). They are still a drop wider than regular shoes and I am very limited to the shoes I can buy

if you need support - but not specifically the orthotics - you might be able to get away with a good pair of arched dr scholls - made for nicer shoes ...

mine too are thick - but I've stopped wearing them since I only needed them after a broken foot - and they were more stiff and achy once it mostly healed ... I however have not been able to wear "nicer" shoes since ... Confused

Not exactly true about sneakers being considered untznius - for married women, they are considered all right as long as the style and color are subdued. So says my daughter who went to a Bnei Brak BY high school. She says it's understood that married women can have a "matzav" (situation...like pregnancy).

You can buy Shabbos shoes at orthopedic stores - not so stylish but some are okay...

[Orthopedic old lady shoes are my fate.  There are worse things in life.  Extra-Depth, noch besser.  I sprained my ankle 4 mos. ago, and I still can't walk the way I used to.  Weight gain, natch.  Ugh.  Now the other foot hurts-worse than the sprained one.  The ankle bone got pulled all the way out because of my flat feet. Crying I just got fitted for...braces.  It'll look like a cast, a lace-up cast.  Even if I adjust to them, and walk again with less pain, other supporting muscles will get weaker.  I hope and pray foot physical therapy will improve the situation.

Earnest, ouch! I hope that by feeling less pain with your orthopedics, you'll also feel better about the whole situation. Look how many of us wear orthopedics! 8) Yes

when I take them off I put on my pink Crocs
