I always get these annoying ingrown hairs after a bikini wax. Sometimes they get really bad and they hurt. Otherwise they're just annoying and look bad. I usually take a tweezer and pull out the problem hair and then apply some bacitracin. Is there any way to prevent this from happening in the first place? Or is the lady not doing the waxing correctly?

Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.

exfoliate before and after- really helps but you have to remember to do it at least every few days after

You can also use a loofah sponge for that.

I recently started using an exfoliating glove and skin much better, almost no ingrown hairs, and waxing gets a much better result.

I use in shower with shower gel - works very well and very easy - highly recommended

I've been told by a few waxing places that some ppl- like me- are just super prone to ingrowns.. I exfoliate with a glove and use tend skin and about 10% of all the hairs grow in, it's a disaster. I have looked into laser a few times, but since you can't do it when nursing or pregnant I plan on waiting until I'm done having children before I do that- maybe 10 more years.. meanwhile, ppl who don't have terrible ingrowns can't imagine how bad it is, I haven't found anything to really help. may this be our biggest problem in life.

When I had my face waxed I got bad pimples and went to a derm. He said it was 'pseudo-folliculitis' caused by the waxing. An antibiotic for roseacia helped, called 'metro-gel'. I used it after every waxing, and the pimples seldom returned. I have no idea if this would help on body in-grown hairs, though. Sometimes the wax is 'shared' from a common-pot, and full of bacteria, and sometimes the wax is dispensed fresh-er with each client, with a roll-on thingy.
