Yes! You should be giving your cleaning lady, mail man, garbage truck driver ... a holiday gift. Besides I think a dr. is different.

(I am curious if anyone here gives the garbage-truck drivers holiday gifts.)
OP, I agree that the nice card and appreciation counts the most- I am sure that whatever you choose he'll like!

How do they take it? Do other people do it? I have never heard or seen such a thing. If I worked for someone and got a gift from him I would be

Ruchel, some doctors just do their jobs, while other doctors go the extra mile for their patients, making the whole experience extra special!

My Dr is Jewish, so I got him a nice Artscroll Tehilim, with translation and commentaries. Of course with a card.
His reaction? "I always say that I do my part and the Tehilim does the other..."
