What is your favorite makeup counter at department stores? Anyone know in nyc where to buy nateral mineral makeup, trish mekovy makeup? For you over 40 ladies what is your preferred makeup brand?

trish is sold at Saks and Bergdorfs for sure. Henri Bendel too, but is that a "department store"? Barneys might carry it but I am not sure...I think Ive spotted it there Those are the dept stores I go to, I cant tell you about the rest (like Macys or Lord and Taylor perhaps?)
in my opinion, the best makeup counter (nicest,and do the best makeovers) at Saks is: tie btwn YSL and Chanel, and at Bergdorf's Clea De Peau. at Henri Bendel, NARS!!!

I love Estee LAuder Moisturizers and foundation. I love Lancome lipstick, eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner. I haven't found a blush I love but right now I use Prescriptives.

Bobbi Brown has HANDS DOWN The most intelligent make up artists out there. They KNOW what they are doing when they apply product and their suggestions are right on the money.
PERFUME is a whole 'nother story.
BARNEYS.
Nowhere else. Just BARNEYS
Because they cary L'Artisan perfume which is the most AMAZING perfume/cologne available on the planet. I wear Fig inthe spring and summer and Patch in the Fall and Winter.

Sephora is the best! They have ALL the department store brands including bare minerals and some other lines that are less common.
The hands-down best part of all is that in addition to trying a product on you if you want, being super nice at every store I've gone into - they let you take a sample home!
This has been amazing, you can take samples of perfumes, any of the makeup products. It's a great way to try out stuff at home more than once. You can return anything and if you join their club (free) you get 3 lipglosses on your b-day and rack up points for future free gifts.
