Someone once mentioned here recently that women having hair on place was a curse? Anyone ever heard of this or could direct me to a source?
TIA

brought down in the Gemara. Let me see if I can find it for you...
Sanhedrin 21a wrote: | דרש רבא מאי דכתיב 'ויצא לך שם בגוים ביפיך'? שאין להן לבנות ישראל לא שער בית השחי ולא בית הערוה".
Rabbi Meir explains: what does it mean when it says "and you will get a name amongst the nations with your beauty"[Yechezkel16:14] ? That the Jewish women did not have hair under their arms or pubic hair |
Rashi there says on the words "shlo haya lahem lbnos yisrael" That this was before they [the women] sinned with "vgavhu bnos tzion", as it says in Yeshaya 3:16 [the women would walk around in a provocative, haughty, come-hither manner] (that was one of the things Hashem was going to bring the churban for)
Ok, enough navi and gemara searching. I"ve got to cook shabbos
Edited to fix quote and translate

Interesting! Does this mean when Moshiach comes, Jewish women won't have hair there?

They obviously had some, but very very sparse. One of the defining factors of an "adult" body vs. a child's is shtei saaros 2 pubic hairs.
I can't come up with an educated guess about post-Moshiach. I'd think that it would probably lessen, as all the klalos will.

Interesting, I was told that Dd can get her period once I see at least one pubic hair. I didn't know it had a makor in gemara.

Fascinating gemara! I had heard about the "shtei se'aros" but never about what R. Meir said. Yet another reason to daven for Moshiach! Amen!

It means that now Jewish women do have it. Is the woman who has a menstrual period, childbearing pains cursed? As an idividual, I mean. No... but that's not the "original" order of the world.
Greenfire...lol
