I have dark blond hair and I'm looking for a shampoo that will brighten it / highlight it / make it more blond.
I've been using John Frieda's Sheer Blonde Shampoo and conditioner and it does an ok job, but I'm wondering if there's anything better.

I doubt a shampooo can change the color much; it doesn't sit on the hair terribly long.

So what's the best at-home hair lightening technique?

I used to have a nice thread about it which seems to be missing.

Anyway, I like Garnier Nutrisse. It doesn't smell bad and it's not as messy as the others.

I used herbal essences with chamomile. It brought out ALL my blood highlights and my hair was mamash gold! it was gorg.

but that was the old herbal essences, they dont make it like they used to with real herbs....

I'm confused. Do you want to lighten your real hair or a shaitel?

Real hair, not sheitel.

Depending on the original color u could bleach it, by buying a hair bleaching kit but beware it can damage the hair if left on too long, or create orangey hues if left on too short ,as was the case with me Rolling Eyes

SO now I opt for a gentler permanant even if the color does comes out very interesting 8)
