Why do you feel funny? Don't you need underwear? Everyone does......And if you are not comfortable with that, then you can shop online! Or mail order. What about other lingerie departments or stores? Are you supposed to feel funny? What about when you go to the drugstore to buy sanitary pads? Or other stuff?

Good idea, reachout...thanks!
(side point: Does anyone know, if you order online from them, do their packages say Victoria's Secret in big letters all over or just in small somewhere?)

Just go to a regular shop (I hear VS is supposed to be racy), or a shop that sells many things including underwear.

I've ordered from them- the package doesn't say vs anywhere except the shipping label. can't guarantee that they haven't changed packaging, but I think they do it b/c they know many ppl don't want it advertised.

VS has makeup and fpretty undies. Everything isn't Frederick's Of Hollywood in there.
I often see frum teens and women shopping at the VS at the Seaport and on 34th Street.

There are a lot of men and kids at Target. It's not that comfortable there.
You might prefer Macy's, but not on a Sunday when whole famillies tend to shop.

me 2, I always feel really weird looking at anything that isnt somewhat conservative in victorias secret. a regular bra I totally dont feel awkward about. but anything more, even if I'm just browsing out of curiosity, I feel really embarassed. in target, yeah I feel weird looking at anything, even the most conservative beige full coverage cotton sports bra for my grandma, lol.

That is why I would not walk in there one can always buy online. Imho ofcourse any time we get a funny feeling about something we are doing perhaps just perhaps it's our Yetzer hatov telling us something even if not in theory wrong perhaps spiritually we should not be doing a particlar thing. Now I have said my peice you can go and bash me

The thing that gets to be about Victoria's Secret is this: a) I haven't found all of their products to be well-made (though I guess it depends on the person and how delicately one washes bras, etc. and b) Whenever I've gone in there, I see men in there. I actually had a male salesperson ask if he could get my size. UMM...NO? Or there are non jewish couples picking out outfits together. (VERY uncomfortable)
Either order online or go to a store that sells ladies garments--robes, pantyhose, bras, and ... lingerie. The saleshelp will be all women, there will likely be no men in there, and you can get something that you know will fit, look good, etc. (If you're ever in Manhattan Upper West Side, try the Town Shop or Bra Smyth.)
Don't feel bashful or ashamed...what you're doing is great if it contributes to shalom bayis. But be comfortable and have fun with the shopping, too!

Oh, please, Tefila. G-d knows how many newlyweds you're going to mess up forever with that nonsense. Did you not feel a little "funny" on your wedding night? I certainly hope so! Anything new tends to feel a little "funny" and it has zip to do with the Yetzer Hatov. personally I feel uncomfortable being seen going to or leaving the mikvah, and it's certainly not any yetzer HaTov telling me I'm doing something I shouldn't be.
