My parents 30th wedding anniversary is coming up, and im trying to think of a nice gift for them.
Kah there are 8 in our family 3 are married with no money, and the other 5 are still in school, so we are on a tight budget. my sister and I live out of the country and Im Iyh due two weeks before, so its not really an option to go in for a suprise.
Any suggestions of something nice we can do for them?

My aunt's family made a photo album for their parents at Shutterly.com. It started with their parents chasuna pictures, honey moon, then all funny & interesting pictures throughout their marriage. then they added the kids and then the grand kids. It was a beautiful gift & the parents were thrilled.

Its the thought that counts here. I'm sure your parents dont need your gift, they just need you to remember that it's there big day!
Get hold of their wedding video if there is one.. or just put on their wedding tape and look through the pictures...
if you want to get them something, maybe a new set of pots.. or a nice wall clock..

we bought a digital photo frame, it was really cute, we loaded pictures from all the kids and grandkids , really not expensive and can be nice too. they have it in all size up to a 15" screen. Also it was very easy to upload.

We blew up a family picture from the last wedding that includes all the children and grandchildren (there are allot k"y) we had it framed. Our parents loved it.
Another idea we did one year-we bought a set of shabbos dishes, since my mothers original set was missing a lot of pieces. On Friday when my parents were resting we set the table with the new dishes (our dh's worked hard on toviling beforehand) and put beautiful flowers in the middle. It was a wonderful surprise.

I love a sentimental idea. The family gave my in laws a gorgeous scrapbook which can be done very reasonably. An album or video is a nice idea as well.

we found a picture when they were eiter engageed or just married and my sister happen to get them to sit in the same place, same pose in the present and we had a cake made with those two pictures on it. that was the talk of the party and it was beautiful. we also made a very large collage of all of the years they have been married, just them, with children, grandparents, their parents, things like that, it was lovely and we even hung it up.

I like the idea of a shutterfly/snapfish photo album. There are different prices, and it can be as simple/complex as you want (depending on the tim/creativity available)- all looking extremely professional and beautiful. (Scrapbook is similar idea, but may be harder to do and more expensive.)

The digital photo frame is another fantastic idea.

They both last beyond the party- not just a cute cake or whatever, and have many pictures.

for my grandparent's ann someone bought a beautiful leather photo album and each child and grandchild got one page to write something nice- a poem, a drawing if they are to young, a collage of things that remind them of bubby and zaidy, etc. then they put pictures of my grandparents when they were newly married and throughout the years and then after was the pages of all the poems, etc. someone also made a beautiful family tree as the first page when it is opened. It was really beautiful and the poems made it more personal than just pictures.
