hi everyone,
I'd like to know which Silver Store in NY you would recommend ... I care more about variety and quality as opposed to cheaper prices... (im looking for things like menorahs, megillah cases, pesach silver etc) --
since its a little bit of a shlepp to come to NY I want to know which stores I should bother going to ...

Elite Silver has in general the prettiest stuff at the best prices. Their pieces are quality.
If you're looking for the most grand and expensive pieces, Grand Silver is the way to go.

We found Kleins silver store (on 14th Avenue) always to be cheaper then any of the other silver stores - they are receptive to great discounts and great products.
If you are from out of New York, I remember when I went with my cousin from new jersey to Grand, they paid for the silver and then had it shipped to their home address, this saved them the money in taxes. As no taxes are applied when shipped from new york to new jersey (this was approx 10 years ago so I do believe the law is still the same)

ok so we have three winners 
- Elite
- Silvertown
- Grand Silver
I actually think it was at Elite, that I bought for my husband (well fiance at the time) a becher for our wedding.
I know its early, but I want to start saving up and shopping around for a beautiful 3-tiered silver Kaarah / seder plate. My husband said he'd like it to be silver - but since he's not 100% sure what kind he likes, hed like a store that has a bunch to choose from.

grand would prob have the biggest selection but not necessarily the nicest.
they are all within a three-four block radius so if you're not sure in one store you can walk over to another and compare

Right across the street from Grand Silver the is a little store called Stauber's Silver Center and they do great repairs and lacquering for great prices.
