What are the fashion rules? Is it permissible to wear white to a wedding in October?

I wouldn't wear pure white. I might wear cream though.

Are you part of the wedding party? If not, I would think it is OK, so long as it is not a gown. If you are part of the wedding family, I would stick with cream, etc...

I was just at a wedding where a lot of the family wore a light cream. Have rachmanus on the family! You wear what you can find! But I wore a summery jacket to chap a rein, it was mild out, and I felt weird.

after labor day - no white - unless it's winter white which is more of an ivory ...
but who follows rules ...

My sister in law wore a white gown to my wedding. To be honest It upset me but of course whats past is past.

And the bride's gown was not stark white, so it was the same color. I felt bad for her- this is her time to shine!
(I think the OP was asking about wearing white to an event in October, not so much a wedding per se?)

hi,
Op here. sorry all, I wasn't clear enough in my question.
I have a cream colored jacket with a cream and black skirt, and I am not in the wedding party.
I do have a little more fashion sense than actually wearing white. Thanks for the advice though.
