Which profesional beauty treatments do you have? Eyebrows, facials, waxing, massage, etc? How often? I'm curious about the range of answers we may get.
My eyebrow stylist says I should make an appointment every month. Is that typical? A friend of mine goes every month to have every cosmetic treatment offered, before going to the mikva - she says she owes it to her dh.
From what age do your daughters go for eyebrow styling? I've heard of girls as young as 7th grade doing this.
I'm guessing some women here never do any of this, and some are very into it.

I get my eyebrows done every other month I think it depends how quickly they grow back.
The only other thing I get is a mani. I wish I could afford to do more but it gets really expensive

I get professional manicures every so often, about 15 times a year, usually for yomtov and simchas. I'd love to have a standing appointment every week, but am reluctant to pay the cost.
I did electrolysis on my eyebrows as a teenager, so I just have to tweeze a few stray hairs every so often.

I do my eyebrows myself. Why? Because I started under 18 (no serious professional especially at the time would have done me). Also because once my grandmother had hers done professionally and it was HORRIBLE and took a year to go back to normal. I know what I like and what I want.
Facials, pedis and waxings I don't need, massage I wouldn't want from a stranger.

owes? why, does he get treatments monthly?
I got professional make up and hairdo for my engagement, civil wedding and chuppa. Manicure for these occasions plus when I got fake nails a few months ago. For my dd's naming I did everything myself.
As a single I used to go to hairdresser for streaks and stuff like that pretty often. Now I do it home especially since I started covering all my hair, no one sees it anymore!

I feel why should I pay someone else to do something I can do just as well myself
I only do waxing or mani professionally once in a blue moon (if I need to pamper myself)

I wax everything except for my eyebrows which I tweeze, and my nails (fingers and toes) are always done. I do everything myself. I wax once a month, I do my eyebrows twice a month, I do my finger nails once a week--or more if I want to change the color--and toes twice a month.

My daughter's too young to wax. Waxing is not recommended for girls under puberty. Those 7th graders may have gotten their period already. I started doing my eyebrows (tweezing) in eighth grade.

my eyebrows grow like crazy so I get threading every 3 weeks. and I've only had one facial ever but I really should make it a yearly thing.
I started waxing my eyebrows probably when I was 13- I have crazy thick eyebrows ( altho since theyre so thick they look awesome when done)

Eyebraw--I'm really bad and let mine grow like bushes sometimes. I try to go for threading about once a month to trim/tidy. Threading is so much less painful than tweezing yourself. Manicure--before kids I used to get almost every week but now I've cut it down to 2-3times monthly. I usually get those quick 15min ones. Pedicure--once or twice a year if I'm going on holiday and will be wearing open toe sandals. I hate to show my ugly nails to others incl therapists. Waxing--just during summer months, before holidays. Facials--for me it feels like a waste of money, if you have good facial mask and facial cream. Massage--I would love to but expensive and don't have good masseurs as my previous lady moved back to Canada.

What is threading?
How can manicures be done when you have to cut your nails before going to the mikvah and tovel without nailpolish? And isn't negel vasser and washing for bread a problem if the nailpolish is chipped? I never got the idea of how frum women manage with manicures.
Don't get the impression from here that I go around looking unkempt - I don't.

Just remove the polish before mikve (unless you are allowed to toivel with it, ask your rav).
Not all women cut their nails for mikve at all. My first mikve lady said, why would you cut them if they're clean! Again a question for a rav.
I agree that you don't need threading (I tweeze) or polish to look good. It can just help.

threading--a lady uses two tight thin cotton threads to "pinch" eyebraw hairs. It definitely hurts less. I think it could be Indian (at least here).
manicure--of course you take them off before mikva. It's just a matter of planning well so you don't spend money getting manicure if you know you'll need to strip it in 2 days. I spent good amount of time soaking nails/cuticles in varnish remover. (One reason I don't do pedi that often--much harder to get it off completely.) I do regular manicure (nowadays mostly at home) but keep my nails fairly short. Never heard of chipped nails being a problem with netilat yadaim.

I wax my eyebrows, and do electrolysis monthly.
I'd luv to go for mani/pedi & leg wax monthly too, but comes out too costly, so I just do it occassionally. I try to do mani's on my own... Ok. I will start a new thread about this...

When I was in the states I used to get a manicure about every two weeks, waxing about once every two months - basically whenever I needed it. Pedicures I didn't always have time for, but usually once every month or two if I had time, more if not. My eyebrows are pretty thin so I've never had them done.
I've been in London for two months and got my nails done once and nothing else. Everything is expensive plus I wouldn't really know where to go.
And I would absolutely love to get massages all the time, but they're so expensive I really wouldn't want to spend the money unless I knew the person was amazing.
